It is useful in stimulating the uterus, the endometrium and the ovarian tissues, uterine bleeding associated with fibroids, leucorrhoea, menstrual disturbances. It is useful in all cases of uterine bleeding where ergot is indicated. |

| Mode Of Action : Potent oxytocic and analgesic action. Its effect on the ovarian tissue may produce an estrogen - like activity that enhances the repair of the endometrium and stops bleeding. It is astringent and bitter in taste, hence it balances kapha and pitta. Due to its astringent taste it helps in cleansing the toxins and improves the uterine tone and also reduces the amount of uterine secretion. |
